Redmond is nationally recognized as the center of technology as it is the location of many prominent high tech companies, such as Microsoft, Nintendo and AT&T, as well as home to DigiPen Institute of Technology.  Redmond is an award winning city known throughout the Pacific Northwest as a great place to raise a family and grow a business. Incorporated in 1912 as a small town whose economy depended on agriculture and logging, Redmond is now a thriving city of 17 square miles with a population of 60,560 (2016) and 84,547 2014) jobs. Redmond is currently the 9th most populated city in King County and the 19th most in the state. Despite the changes brought about by many decades of rapid growth, the community continues to value and preserve its unique natural environment.
